I created a complete explainer video for School of Tennis, designed to introduce young players to the rules and fundamentals of tennis in a dynamic, accessible way. The creative process began with detailed scene composition in Adobe Illustrator. Once the visual script was set, I animated the whole piece in After Effects, adding narrative elements, music and sound design to reinforce each rule.

The biggest technical challenge was building and rigging the characters. The goal was to translate real tennis movements and gestures, like the serve or the racket hitting the ball, into 2D animation that felt natural and smooth. Syncing the characters’ gestures precisely with the voiceover guiding the tutorial was another challenge, while keeping viewers visually engaged throughout.
Character animation and rigging: Building complex motion systems to recreate realistic sports actions, with smooth interaction between the characters and their environment.
